I’m not going to lie to you, Jacare is my favorite Jiu Jitsu fighter of all time. When I really started to get into watching competitive Jiu Jitsu he was at his peak. Throwing people on the faces. Passing guards. Finishing.

His style to me was reminiscent of the classical Jiu Jitsu superhero, brutal, efficient, always looking for the submission. This is what made the matchups between he and Roger so epic, it was two men who wanted nothing more than to impose their will in the most straightforward manner possible. To me, that’s Jiu Jitsu.

Once again, our friends at Jits Magazine have done a killer job of putting together some content for us all to enjoy. To learn info like Jacare used to buy one way tickets to tournaments, relying on winning to fund his way home…that only adds to the mystique.

Add to the story an instructional technique in the middle and you have one killer mini-documentary. Enjoy.
